When you are in the hands of twin brothers Jason and Robert Townsend, who opened Essensuals London in Seattle Capitol Hill, you know you are going to leave the salon looking and feeling fabulous.
Right when I walked in the salon, I was in awe by the beautiful modern and minimal design of the space.
I was warmly greeted, seated in these comfy sleek chairs, and offered water, french presse, tea, red wine, or beer (I’m boring and went with water).
I had a thorough consultation with Jason and Robert, and since I didn’t have any specifics on what I wanted, I let the color master, Robert, choose my hair destiny – so a subtle light brown color melt balayage it was! As I watched Robert work his magic, I noticed how detail-oriented he was as he painted and foiled my hair.
After the color treatment was done, I got an amazing head massage while my hair was being washed and conditioned. I seriously wouldn’t mind coming back in just for the massage :). Then Jason cut my hair, taking off all of my dead-ends and layering my hair without the traditional v-shape, a style that I haven’t tried before but love how thick and healthy my hair feels!
Lastly, Jason styles my hair using a Bio Ionic Stylewinder, which gave me these killer wavy curls. It’s also supposed to be really easy to use!
With some light hair spray and using Jason’s fingers to loosen the curls, this is the final result.
We take some photos and pick our favorites. We weren’t intentionally matching, I promise!
The final verdict: I love that the balayage gives dimension to my hair without it being so “loud”. My hair feels fresh, voluminous, and healthy. The service, attention to detail, and knowledge provided by the stylists were top notch. Overall, I am a very happy customer!
