This fall’s major accessories are scarves, capes, and now ponchos! I recently purchased this Nordstrom BP plaid poncho and am soo in love with it. It’s comfortable, keeps me warm, is super chic AND under $40! All you have to do is layer it over a t-shirt, blouse, or sweater – or in my case, a sleeveless turtleneck! Being a petite girl, I was worried that this poncho would be too big on me since it’s a one-size-fits-all kind of deal, but it ended up working out perfectly. The trick is to hold up the poncho and wrap it around yourself so that it’s not just draping and hanging too loosely. This will help you look more polished IF you do feel like it’s a little big on you!
Since the plaid poncho was loose on top, I made sure to keep it slick and lean with faux leather leggings on the bottom. I got these leggings from Zara about two years ago but they are still my ultimate favorite. The side zipper details instantly add that chic and edgy factor! These leather leggings are the most similar looking ones I can find.
I paired the plaid poncho and leather leggings with pointed toe pumps to keep the outfit very classic and sleek. However, when it gets colder, I can totally see this poncho being worn with booties and boots! Imagine how cute this would be with red rain boots! Will you be trying out the poncho trend this season?
