Dress: Toby Heart Ginger Lace Midi Dress (splurge on the Self Portrait version, also love this and this)
Jacket: BLANKNYC Faux Leather Jacket (similar here)
Shoes: Schutz (similar here, splurge on these)
I’ve been overly obsessed with the gorgeous Self Portrait lace dresses (I mean, who isn’t), but unfortunately, I can’t justify spending over $400 on a single dress. After hours of scouring online, I finally found this pretty Toby Heart Ginger lace midi dress that was half the price! I went click-happy and the rest was history.
To be honest, this lace midi dress is still a little more than what I would typically spend on a dress, which is usually $100 or less, but I loved it so much and the quality made up for it. The dress fit me like a glove (although I would size up if you have a larger chest) and I couldn’t say no to the beautiful cobalt blue color. Also look at the crochet lace details – totally swooned! I previously purchased a very inexpensive version and the details and fit just weren’t as nice.
I think this lace midi dress would turn heads on its own. But with the cooler temperatures, it was the perfect excuse to pull out my BLANKNYC faux leather jacket that’s been sitting in my closet all summer long. Not only did the leather jacket keep me warm, it also toughened up the look and gave it a layering dimension. I think a leather jacket is the easiest and most fool-proof way of transitioning a summer dress into fall!
