If I could wear dresses every day, I totally would! But with Seattle’s weather in the fall and winter, it’s not always practical. My solution? Look for simple dresses that you can layer! This burgundy skater dress is a perfect example of this. It’s simple and casual with a slight swing effect that makes it very flattering. Since this dress is on the “plain” side, you can spice it up with all of your favorite winter layers like with a scarf, cardigan, coat, vest, and/or tights – the combinations are endless!
For me, I just pulled out my most worn layers like this awesome cable knit scarf that I scored from Forever 21 for less than $20. It looks like it’s no longer available but I found a very similar one here. Don’t forget about tights either – gotta keep those mile long legs of yours warm ;)! I’m wearing these DKNY opaque tights, but after leaving the house, I wish I had on my fleece lined tights for extra warmth.
This skater dress is from Shein and is only $13! It comes in burgundy (obvi hehe) and four other colors (black, navy, khaki, and olive). I’m wearing a Small and it fits well. If you’re tall, be sure to measure the length since it may be short on you. I’m 5’4″ and the skater dress fell perfectly at my mid-thighs.
For those who have been asking about purchasing from Shein, I would compare the clothes quality to Forever 21. Shipping may take a while so be patient. I always look for photos to see what the item looks like on “real” people (versus their models) and read reviews before buying. I usually won’t buy if there are no customer photos or reviews. If you’re comfortable purchasing from Forever 21, I would definitely recommend giving Shein a try. If not, I found a very similar dress via Nordstrom here. Hope this helps!
