I love the fullness of this midi skirt and how it pinches at my waist. The floral print is also chic with a beautiful color palette of navy, purple and blush. For reference, I’m wearing an XS and, to be honest, I couldn’t fully zip it up to my 25.5″ waist. I only had about .5 inches left to zip and I blame it on the heavy lunch that day! Lesson learned – don’t eat a big lunch if you want to wear a fitted skirt that evening hehe. But really, the fabric doesn’t stretch much. I would definitely recommend reviewing the skirt measurements carefully and ordering a size up if you’re in between waist sizes.
Since this midi skirt is fairly poofy, I balanced out the fullness with this cute ruffle crop top. It fits true to size but it wasn’t fitted as I would have expected for a crop top. It was a little loose at the waist so you could definitely tuck it in a skirt/pants to make it fit better. I didn’t do this so that I could hide my not fully zipped skirt. 🙂 Strategy people, strategy.
Despite the midi skirt being a little too fitted and the top not being as fitted as I’d like, this outfit still turned out chic! I recently wore it to the opening event of the Thompson Seattle Hotel. It was seriously one of my favorite events that I’ve attended as a blogger. Open bar, unlimited seafood (oysters, crab, shrimp), photo booths, an array of desserts, and the most beautiful rooftop view of Seattle! I had no idea it was going to be such a fabulous event but I’m so glad I dressed up for it!
