If you guys remember, I went to rewardStyle The Conference back in April and got to stay at the lovely Fairmont Dallas. It was such a wonderful stay and the hotel even moved me with the sweetest surprise ever! Read on to find out what the surprise was and the full recap of my stay at the Fairmont Dallas!
LOCATION
The Fairmont Dallas is located right in the Arts District of downtown Dallas. It’s only a 20-minute drive from the DFW airport and was super easy to get to. It’s also within walking distance to many hot attractions including the Dallas Museum of Art, Klyde Warren Park, Dallas World Aquarium as well as dining and shopping (Neiman Marcus is only a 10-minutes walk away)! Because of the conference, I was super bummed that I didn’t get a chance to explore the surrounding area more. However, I was happy that the conference location was conveniently close!
ACCOMODATIONS
Staying at the Fairmont Dallas, we were treated to an awesome and enormous suite. We had a full living room, dining area, walk-in closet and a spacious one bedroom. Our room was bright with floor to ceiling windows, and it was clean and spotless. The beds were also super comfortable. So comfortable that, after coming back from the conference one of the evenings, I laid down to rest and could not get up for the life of me. I ended up sleeping like a baby and missed the LiketoKnow.it finale party! hehe #worthit
If you followed me on IG Stories or just look at the below photos, you’ll see that the Fairmont Dallas surprised me with the absolute sweetest setup! When we first got to our room after checking in, this beautiful table spread was already waiting for us. There was champagne, a cheese platter, chocolate cake and some more yummy treats. The best surprise was the handwritten card along with printed photos from my blog – some of myself and some of my pups! I briefly mentioned in an email to them that I wish I could’ve brought my dogs along on this trip, and the Fairmont Dallas ended up finding these photos of us from my blog! If that’s not the most thoughtful and best service ever, I don’t know what is! These printed photos are currently hanging in my work office!
AMENITIES
There are many cool amenities and perks when staying at the Fairmont Dallas. Here are some of my favorites:
Junior Olympic Sized Pool: As you can see, I got in some much needed R&R at the rooftop pool. I loved the mix of palm trees and the city view. You can also enjoy food from their Pyramid Restaurant & Bar poolside! You can find my striped one-piece swimsuit here and here (currently 25% off with code YAYCLOTHES).
Hotel Courtesy Car: This car is available to all guests on a first-come first-serve basis. I think it can take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. I used it a couple of times to get to and from the conference, and it was so convenient!
Concierge Service: Definitely take advantage of this service because they’re available 24/7. Whitney, one of the fabulous concierges that I got to meet, treated us like VIPs and really made sure that all of needs were met. She helped set up dinner reservations and gave us a bunch of great activity recommendations that I wish I could’ve done.
Live-in Artist: I don’t see this advertised on the hotel website, but because of Whitney, we found out that they rotate in live-in artists at the Fairmont Dallas. On the main floor off to the side of the lobby, the hotel has its own art gallery – how fitting that they’re located in the Arts District! The Fairmont Dallas brings in an artist to fill that gallery with his/her work and they get to live at the hotel during this time! Due to conference time conflicts, I wasn’t able to check out the gallery myself but it looked pretty cool from the outside.
In-House Garden: On the same rooftop floor as the pool, they also have an herb and veggie garden. All of the herbs are used and cooked in the meals served by the hotel restaurant and bar! I thought that was really unique and cool!
FOOD
Last but not least, we can’t end this post without talking about my favorite thing – food! We got to try food at the on-site, award-winning Pyramid Restaurant & Bar (*photos are only from the restaurant).
I personally enjoyed the Pyramid Bar right outside of the restaurant because, if you know me, I love bar food like wings, sliders, and flatbreads, which is exactly what we ordered. While waiting to check-in, we enjoyed our reasonably-priced meal here while watching some sports.
If you’re looking for something elegant, of course the Fairmont Dallas has got you covered. We got to try out the tasting menu at the Pyramid Restaurant and each dish was brought out by the chef. Many of the dishes incorporated the herbs and veggies from their garden so everything tasted really fresh! Some of my favorites were the manila clams and the steak (yum!).
CONCLUSION
Overall, I was blown away by the thoughtfulness and excellent service from all of the folks at the Fairmont Dallas. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, and I felt so comfortable staying there. If I’m in Dallas again, I would love to stay here and check out all of the nearby attractions next time! Even though my stay was short, it was definitely sweet and the Fairmont Dallas definitely made my experience a memorable one!
