Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your patience while I’ve been a terrible blogger lately. I’ll explain my absence more down below, but first, this bold and fun summer outfit with a floral midi skirt! I’ve honestly never worn so much yellow as I have this year. After I figured out what yellow tone works well with my skin color, I’m not afraid to wear it like I used to. It’s such a bright and happy color and it always brightens up my mood!
So this cute summer outfit came about when I spotted this flirty floral midi skirt from Nordstrom. I just adore the colorful, sweet print that pops against the crisp white. I’m also a sucker for high-waisted skirts since they’re always so flattering. Plus, the midi length is ideal for work and everything else!
For reference, this floral midi skirt fits true to size and I’m wearing an XS. It’s about 26.5″ long and falls at mid-calf length on my 5’4″ frame. The fabric is light and airy and the skirt is lined so that it’s not see-through.
After picking out this skirt, I knew I wanted to make the yellow from the print stand out more. So I searched for yellow tops and thought this ruffle top would be perfect with this skirt (you know I can never get enough of ruffles!). I love how vibrant and summery the whole look turned out! This exact top is no longer available in yellow, but I found an almost identical version that’s on sale for less than $30 here.
So if you’ve been wondering where I was last week – my site unexpectedly went down for a few days! We transferred my domain name registrar from eNom and, during the seven-day processing wait period, my domain expired. It was definitely a hard and stressful lesson learned! I’ve done a domain transfer before and it was completed within a day so I had no idea this one would take so long – I would not recommend using eNom because of this! I really appreciate everyone that reached out to me to let me know that my site was down in case I wasn’t aware!Moral of the story: Plan out your domain transfer if you’re planning for one and don’t wait until the last minute to do it!
With this situation and the long July 4th weekend (which is also my mom’s birthday), I decided I needed a few extra days to disconnect a little bit. Now that my site is back up, I will actually be going through a website update within the next month or so. I can’t wait to show you the new custom design and I will definitely give you guys a heads up if my site has to be down for the change!
