Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 Review: Try-On Session!

Are you ready to ruUuUumble? Because I’m sharing a huge Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 review of my purchases! I bought about half of the items from my favorite sale picks post and will be talking about the fit and how I liked each item. I got most of them online but also went into the Nordstrom Southcenter store yesterday to try out the new Style Bar service where I worked with a stylist to put together two outfits. I will be collaborating with Nordstrom Southcenter soon so stay tuned to learn more about the Style Bar! Anyway, let’s get this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 review party started!

Cashmere Sweater (Regular XS, true to size): This classic cashmere sweater is on sale for only $90. It is ultra comfortable, cozy, and not itchy. I love the bow tie details on the sides at the waist. However, the slits on the sides are high so definitely consider wearing a cami underneath or pair it with high-waisted jeans if you plan to wear it for work. Nordstrom says this sweater runs large, but I think it runs true to size – I’m wearing a Regular XS. Comes in 7 other colors (mine is Pink Smoke) and is a must-have for fall!

Step Hem Jeans (Size 2, runs large): These step hem jeans are so chic, stretchy, and you can’t beat the sale price of $60. For jeans, I’m usually between a 25 and 26 so I ordered the size 2 based on the sizing recommendations. However, it was big on me so, unfortunately, I’ll be returning these. Definitely going to keep an eye out for the size 0!

Ankle Strap Pump (Size 6.5, true to size): Ahh, these pumps are soo classy and chic! The moment I tried them on, I was in love! Pointy toe shoes are always my favorite because they elongate your legs and will never go out of style. I love the ankle strap on these ones and the pink suede is just so pretty. I’m even considering getting the leopard ones!

Tiered Bell Sleeve Top (Size XS, true to size): A fun twist to a regular bell sleeve top. The sleeves are big, voluminous, and tiered. Would look great with dark jeans and over the knee boots for fall. For a casual look, I half-tucked it in these burgundy skinny jeans. I also tried it with the burgundy lace pencil skirt pictured below in this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 review!

Frayed Hem Skinny Jeans (Regular 25, runs slightly large): The color burgundy is going to be HUGE again for the colder seasons. Try out these burgundy jeans as an alternative to your standard blue jeans or faux leather leggings. This exact pair also comes in 4 other colors including olive (which would be another great fall staple color). I should’ve listened to the sizing recommendations and sized down since I’m in between. Will be exchanging these for a Petite 0.

Bow Flats (Size 6.5, size up if in between): While trying on all of these items for my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 review, I wore these bow shoes with almost every outfit. They literally go with EVERYTHING and are perfect for an every day look. I wore them all day yesterday and they did hurt my feet towards the end so some breaking in is definitely needed. They’re on sale for $80 and available in 7 other colors/fabrics! The pink suede one is super duper cute! Lace Pencil Skirt (Size 0, true to size): Would you believe me if I told you this high-waisted pencil skirt is only $60? The lace is beautiful and, again, you know I’m loving my burgundy! It also has a black zipper in the back that runs from the hemline to the waist, adding some edge. This pencil skirt would be great for both work and play! It even has a matching top! Back Zip Pullover (XS, runs big, size down): This pullover sweater has a fun back zipper detail. It’s perfect for a cute casual outfit and is totally something you would catch me in at work. The sweater is lightweight and fits very loose. I ordered an XS but probably should’ve gotten the XXS. It’s $40 and comes in burgundy and navy as well. Limited sizing left so check it out before it sells out!

Grey Skinny Jeans (Regular 2, true to size): I’ve been needing a new pair of grey skinny jeans and I love the coloring of these. Apparently I suck at reading sizing recommendations so I’ll need to exchange them for a smaller size and get them hemmed. Nonetheless, they’re an awesome deal for only $60! I also tried on these grey skinny jeans and did not like them at all.

Ruffle Sleeve T-Shirt Dress (XS, true to size): Love this simple t-shirt dress that can be easily transitioned from summer to fall. Did I mention it also has pockets? I wore this dress yesterday with bow flats. Once fall comes around, just throw on a blanket scarf and these booties also from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017!  I bought this dress in the blush color too but since the fabric is somewhat thin, I felt like it was not flattering and slightly sheer.

BP Booties (Size 6.5, size up if in between): You can never have too many booties, right? Well this pair is on sale for $80 so I couldn’t help myself! I love the studded details and the block heel, which means they’re stylish AND comfortable! I also love that the toe area isn’t super rounded and is more flattering that way. I’m wearing the grey suede and these are the perfect fall staple! Striped Tee (Regular XS, true to size for loose fit): This is the basic striped top that everyone needs. I love how long it is and how it drapes when half-tucked in. Such a comfortable top for layering under cardigans or just wearing with jeans! I’m wearing an XS and it runs slightly large, but I’m totally ok with that. I love my tees loose anyways! Fabric is lightweight and a cami is not needed. This tee is $18 and comes in 17 other colors – sad that this striped one is no longer available!

Studded Girlfriend Jeans (Size 24, runs large): I’ve been looking for girlfriend jeans forever and a stylist helped me find these ones in store! I was surprised by how well they fit and I love both the star studded details and frayed hemline. I also don’t need to get them hemmed which is also a huge plus for my 5’4″ height! I’m usually between a 25 and 26 but the 24 was perfect!

Ruffle Bell Sleeve Top (Small, size up): Ok, how adorable is this top? A Nordstrom stylist from the Style Bar helped me score this entire outfit and I think she did an amazing job! This top is the perfect length for me but I can see how it would be short for anyone with a long torso or taller than 5’4″. It’s also slightly sheer so a cami would be needed for work. I sized up and am wearing a small. The polka dot version is already sold out but I’m loving the floral printed one too!

High-Waisted Skinny Jeans (Size 25, true to size): These must-have designer jeans are currently on sale for $100! Not only is the price amazing, the fit is incredible and flattering, and these jeans make your legs look longer! I also love the high-waist that tucks in your tummy. Even though these are considered super skinny jeans, they were so easy to take on and off too. They’re stretchy and feel like BUTTER!

Stacked Heel Pumps (Size 6.5, true to size): I haven’t worn rounded pumps in a VERY long time, but the stylist suggested I try these shoes out. I am so glad she did because I love how they look with this outfit! These shoes fit true to size and, although I haven’t worn these shoes anywhere yet, they felt very comfortable when walking around the store. They’re $80 and available in 4 other colors.

Faux Leather Tote: Totes obvi that I love this faux leather tote from Chelsea28! I’ve been carrying my Street Level one for years so this one is chic alternative. I really like the subtle studded details on the sides and, of course, the affordable price!

Ruffle Hem Bell Sleeve Top (Regular XS, true to size): If you made it this far in my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 review, I am super impressed! This was the last top I tried on and I love the fiery red. The ruffle hem is very sweet, and as you can tell, I have a thing for bell sleeves. Definitely one of those cute casual tops that don’t require much styling! Just pair it with your favorite jeans!
