This pantry was STRESSING me out! I finally took everything out, tossed so many expired items, and grouped everything by category. The best part is that I barely bought any new containers!

Here’s what I did differently:
• Low-profile baskets for small snacks: I can actually see everything now instead of digging through big baskets of random snacks.
• Less decanting: I had way too many jars, and transferring everything was extra work for items we barely used.
• Labeled everything: I never really labeled before, which made it way too easy to forget what we had.
• Ditched the rolling can rack: Cans in the back were always getting forgotten so now I use a behind-the-door organizer where I can see everything at once.

I LOVE how this pantry organization turned out, and I’m actually confident we can keep it this way! 🙌🏼 #pantryorganization #kitchenorganizationideas

Ruffle Shift Dress

I’m finally sharing this ruffle shift dress that I wore to my brother’s college graduation back in June! I’ve worn this vibrant dress a few other times and totally forgot I took pictures of it a while ago!

This ruffle shift dress is the perfect dress for daytime special occassions like wedding showers and, obviously, graduations! I like that it’s dressy but still summery and not too formal. The fabric feels really soft, durable, and was very comfortable to wear throughout the day! I also love the beautiful coral color. The Nordstrom photos make the color look more light but it’s definitely bolder and brighter as seen in my photos.

Although I don’t usually go for shift dresses, I really liked how this one fit. Shift dresses usually give me no shape, but this one subtly curves at the waist to make it more flattering. For reference, I’m wearing an XS and it fits true to size.

Back in June, my brother graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and we all took a road trip over to Central Washington University (about two hours from Seattle) to cheer him on. After the graduation ceremony was over, we headed straight back to Seattle where all 25 of us went to a Vietnamese restaurant to enjoy a huge dinner feast. We couldn’t end the night without dessert so we went to get Vietnamese dessert called che. If you’ve guys never had che, it’s delicious and you have to try it! Needless to say, it was a long day and this ruffle shift dress helped me get through it all!

I’m so proud of my brother for graduating college. He and I are first generation students since my parents didn’t get to go to a four-year university. They were refugees after the Vietnam War ended in 1975 and they were lucky to get sponsored by families in Washington that brought my parents (separately) over here! More about this later but I am always so grateful and happy to see what my family has accomplished!

First of all, congrats to your brother – that’s quite an achievement!
Secondly, I’m with you about shift dresses giving me no shape but I adore yours! Any item that gives an illusion of curves and accentuate waistlines (however subtly) is a win in my book!

Oh my gosh! Congratulations to your brother! Your parents must be so proud of the two of you! I’m a first-gen student as well, so I understand that one family member graduating can feel like you’ve all accomplished something together. And about that outfit, that ruffle shift dress is amazing! I love the bold color and the fun sleeves, and I think you styled it beautifully.
