As I mentioned in my last post, I had the opportunity to go to an incredible tasting event last Friday. It was at the new and very hip second location of Tavolata. With finally a reason to dress up, I wore this blue lace dress that’s just been hanging in my closet for a couple of weeks. I was SO close to returning it since I didn’t know where or when I could wear it. Well, I think the fashion gods sent me a sign (and an invitation to the event) to keep this dress! hehe
I haven’t been to an event where we were spoiled with this much food in a while. We were served a 3-course meal and that didn’t include the dessert or appetizer portions – so basically 5-courses! Everything from the steak, halibut, their famous pasta dishes, and even donut rounds with melted chocolate were super tasty. Tavolata is owned by Ethan Stowell, who is a renowned chef in Seattle with over 15 restaurants, and he even made a special appearance (local celebrity sighting alert!). Even though I don’t drink alcohol, Jeff was thoroughly loving the open bar. I did get to try one of the best mocktails ever there!
There are so many pretty details on this blue lace dress. First, I love the darker shade of blue for fall or “slate” as they call it. And obviously, the lace is very intricate and beautiful. I’m usually not one for open back dresses but I like how this doesn’t show too much skin. Lastly, how cute are the bows on the sleeves and the flirty ruffled, flared hemline? If you have any fall wedding coming up, this dress is for you!
For reference, I’m wearing a size Small. It runs slightly small so if you’re in between sizes like me, consider going for the larger size. It looks like this blue lace dress already sold out on Nordstrom.com but I found it available here on sale! If you like the color and lace pattern but aren’t much of a dress gal, there’s also a darling cold shoulder version.
