My parents fled Vietnam in 1975 after the war ended. When they arrived in Washington to meet their sponsors, my dad happened to see my mom and aunt at the airport struggling and not knowing any English. He stepped in to help them then pursued my mom for the next six months. They got married shortly after in 1976 and the rest is history!

As recent refugees starting over in a new country, they didn’t have much money, so they had a small, simple wedding. Our Small Condo Remodel Reveal

Before we moved into our new home, Jeff and I lived in the perfect small condo that was city chic and had amazing views of the Space Needle. It wasn’t always this perfect, though. We went through a long three month renovation process but the transformation was totally worth it. Even though we don’t live here anymore, this condo will always hold a very special place in our hearts. There’s something about remodeling and designing a home to exactly how you want it that makes you emotionally attached. I’m still shocked by the incredible transformation and am excited to finally be revealing our small condo remodel today!

So here’s the background story of why we started this remodel. Jeff and I were going back and forth a lot from my condo and his. Our condos were only about a 7 minute drive apart but it felt like we were living out of our suitcases. It got old real quick. We talked about moving in together. Jeff wanted me to live at his condo, and I half jokingly said, the only way that would happen is if he renovates his place because my place was a lot newer. After a few months of us still going back and forth, Jeff bought a random Living Social deal for a discounted consultation with an interior designer. We ended up really liking our designer, Fabian, who is the owner of Interior Visions LLC, and went through the actual renovation! Never thought this would’ve happened in a million years, but let’s just say, I happily moved in 🙂

Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, white kitchen transformation
Here are the before and after photos of our small condo remodel. Note that I decorated our place a lot more after I moved in but am bummed that I didn’t take photos!

KITCHEN

Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, white kitchen transformation Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, white kitchen transformationSmall condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, white kitchen transformation
The kitchen is the biggest transformation in our condo. We got new white custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances, linear tile backsplash, and quartz countertops. The before kitchen countertop had a raised kitchen island breakfast bar so we removed that to make the countertop all one level. That made the space feel so much more open. We also added in a ton of lights, including two pendant lights, which really brightened up the space.

DINING ROOM

Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, dining room transformation Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, dining room transformation
We went with a small round dining table that fits the dining area much more appropriately. The ghost acrylic chairs give an airy feel and I’m still swooning over our chandelier that’s such a statement piece. For entertaining, we’ve had 6 people sit around this round dining table comfortably.

LIVING ROOM

Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, living room transformation Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, living room transformation Small condo remodel, city chic Seattle home in Queen Anne, small space renovation, before and after photos, home remodel, living room transformation
In the living room, we took down the IKEA full wall entertainment center. Jeff originally put this up to cover a fireplace that wasn’t centered and he wasn’t sure how to decorate around that. After taking the entertainment center down, we tiled the fireplace using the same tile backsplash from the kitchen but laid it vertically instead. Having a fireplace makes the space much more cozy and warm! We also kept the arc floor lamp and coffee table but got a new sectional and added a blue egg chair for a pop of color.

BATHROOM

The bathroom was definitely the second biggest transformation in this small condo remodel. We got a new luxurious bath and shower tub, tiled the shower all the way up to the ceiling, and replaced the toilet, vanity, and bathroom fixtures. The LED vanity mirror also makes the small bathroom feel very bright and spacious, and it’s perfect for putting on makeup!

BEDROOMS

As part of this small condo remodel, we installed hardwood floors throughout including in the two bedrooms. In the master bedroom, we purchased a new upholstered bed, positioned it differently, and moved a desk into the second bedroom. This created more space and allowed us to use the second bedroom as a guest bedroom or office.

Shortly after I moved in, of course I justatinabit-fied the place a bit by adding pink books and white faux fur pillows everywhere for a feminine touch :). I’m bummed that I didn’t take photos with our camera before we moved out but here’s what the living room looked like (photo taken from my iPhone).

Modern chic living room, blue egg chair, peonies, Seattle fashion bloggerHope you guys enjoyed this small condo remodel reveal and I’ll list some of the sources below. I’m planning to do more of these posts in my new home and can’t wait to share with you guys once we start decorating and furnishing it!

so nice I love it all especially the kitchen and bathroom transformations! Can I ask if you were in a concrete building and if so how you were able to install recessed lighting? i would like to do this as well but I am told that most condos have concrete ceilings with no space to install recessed lighting. Seeing yours gives me hope that it can be done after all!

Hi Dawn! Our condo building is older and not concrete so that made it easier. I don’t really know the process but our electrician was able to install the recessed lighting without any issues. I believe a lot of sheet rock was cut out. Sorry that wasn’t more helpful!

This is an absolute glimmering transformation ! It appears so bright and fluffy like a cloud!
Would anyone know the paint colors of the walls and the name/style of flooring that was used? I’m actually doing a similar makeover in my current condo, and trying to find a flooring type similar to this style as well. I just love the look of the overall transformation, it’s incredible.

Any idea how much was invested in the makeover and how much of the work was done by hand or hired? The fact that the lighting fixtures were even changed, I’m assuming that was done by a professional?

    Either way, brilliant job !

This pinata cost me less than $5 to make but it does take a lot of time and patience. It turned out so cute tho! Comment SHOP and I’ll send links to all of the pinata making supplies + written instructions #pinata #diyparty #hellokittyparty
BÁNH MÌ BAR! 🥖❤️ My mom makes us these si BÁNH MÌ BAR! 🥖❤️ My mom makes us these simple bánh mìs all the time, so we thought it would be fun to turn it into a mini bánh mì bar for big sis’ birthday party!

My mom made the pâté and pickled carrots + daikon (đồ chua), and for the meat, we just bought Vietnamese ham (chả lụa). We set out all the toppings - cilantro, cucumber, and jalapeno - so everyone could build their own.

These cutie, perfectly sized baguettes are from Q Bakery. My dad went super early to grab them because they sell out fast!

Big sis also requested Panda Express catering since it’s one of her favorites! Comment SHOP for links! #banhmi #foodbar #foodstation

Did you know you can just…trace onto canvases?! Did you know you can just…trace onto canvases?! 🎨 I was soo close to spending $8 per character canvas on Etsy until I learned that I could transfer printed designs onto blank canvases myself!

Between me and Jeff, we traced 30 Hello Kitty canvases in under two hours while watching Married at First Sight Seattle 😂 It was actually kinda fun and saved us $200!

Comment SHOP and I’ll send you the transfer paper and canvases I used + easy DIY instructions ❤️ #canvaspaintings #kidspartyideas #kidscraft
Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party because that clip of them dancing and my dad dancing with my daughters will forever be one of my favorite memories 🥹

That’s why I knew I wanted to make their 50th anniversary party extra special and give them the beautiful celebration they never had. Happy 50th anniversary to my parents!! ❤️🥂 #50years #anniversaryparty
