Two weekends ago, I was invited to a fabulous Kroger Beauty event where I was fed hot breakfast (think eggs benedict, quiche, and baconnnnn) and got pampered allll morning long (can this happen every day?). The Kroger Beauty team gave me loose beachy curls, retouched my makeup, and even gave me a mini mani! I’ll share all of the major products we used that day to achieve this summer-ready look.
If you guys don’t know about Kroger, they own a large family of stores across the country. You can see what stores they own here but if you’re in Washington, you’ll know their stores as QFC and Fred Meyer. I’ve shopped at both places ever since I was young and didn’t even realize they were part of the same company! Back in high school, when I started wearing makeup, my best friend and I would go through the beauty aisles and oOoo’d and awWww’d at everything. It’s so nostalgic that I get to work with Kroger Beauty now!
To start off the pampering session, the Kroger Beauty team curled my hair and sprayed it with Suave Natural Hold Micro Mist Hairspray. The hairstylist slightly brushed out the curls to achieve the more relaxed, beachy waves. Then, a makeup artist retouched my makeup by adding L’Oreal Paris Shimmerista highlighter to my cheek bones for that effortless, summer glow.
My favorite part of the Kroger Beauty pampering session was getting my nails painted. I try to do it myself sometimes but I rather leave it to the pros because, let’s be honest, it looks wayyyy better when they do it. I usually go for pink or white nails so I chose Mauve Mantra from the Sally Hansen Color Therapy collection. We also used Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Fortifying Base & Top Coat. I’m a huge fan of Sally Hansen’s nail polishes in general because their brushes are wider, making it easier to apply. For removing nail polish, I recommend Kroger Maximum Strength Nail Polish Remover. I’ve been using it for years because it takes off nail polish fast and is really inexpensive!
Lastly, I can’t help but mention this fun outfit that I wore to the Kroger Beauty event. This yellow, floral maxi skirt has been hanging in my closet for a couple of weeks and I finally had a chance to take it out for a spin (literally, I could twirl in it for daysss). If you’re petite like me (I’m 5’4″), this maxi skirt is for you. I didn’t need to hem it at all, and with a little help from comfortable 2 inch sandals, it was the perfect length! I also love the movement of the skirt and how it flows with each step. Paired with a ruffle crop top, this combination was screaming summer chic!
